How the primary-aluminum figure is worked out. Vedanta Limited's production release prints 1,857 thousand tonnes for the smelter for the year to 31 March 2026, reported in thousand tonnes; the figure converts to 1,857,000 tonnes. The release gives the figure under 'Total Aluminium Production' without a separate definition. World smelter production of primary aluminum in 2025 was 74,000,000 tonnes (USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026); India produced 4,200,000 tonnes.

The period (FY2026 (1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026)) is not the calendar year of the USGS totals (2025), so the shares are approximate.

Status: operating, as of 30 June 2026.
