Unit converter
Convert between the mass and volume units used across this site's commodity pages: tonnes and pounds for metals and crops, troy ounces for precious metals, barrels for oil, bushels for grain. These are fixed unit definitions (SI, US customary and Imperial), not measured data, so there is no source to cite beyond the definitions themselves.

A barrel or bushel does not convert to a weight on its own: it depends on the commodity's density or standard test weight (a US bushel of wheat is defined as 60 lb, of corn as 56 lb; a barrel of crude runs roughly 7–8 per tonne depending on grade). This converter only converts within mass or within volume; for a specific commodity's own figures, see its page under commodities.
