Privacy policy
Commodity Origins is a static website. It has no accounts, no logins and no comment system, and it sets no cookies by default.
What is collected
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. Page-view counts collected without cookies or fingerprinting; it records the page, referrer, country and browser class, not you. How it works.
- Hosting logs. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, URL) for a short period to run and protect the service.
- Email. If you write to us or subscribe to the newsletter, we keep your address and message to reply and to send the newsletter, and delete it when you ask.
- Google Analytics, in Consent Mode. Google Analytics loads on every page in Google's Consent Mode with all consent signals denied until you accept the consent dialog. In that state it sets no cookies and reads none, but it does send Google a request when a page loads: the page address, the referrer, browser and device details, and your IP address, as any web request carries them. Google's documentation says these cookieless requests are used for aggregated measurement and modelling. If you accept, analytics cookies are set and visits are measured normally; if you decline, it stays cookieless, and withdrawing later removes the analytics cookies. The advertising consent signals stay denied unless you choose Accept all (see Google AdSense below). Details on the cookies page.
- Google AdSense, only after Accept all. The AdSense code is in every page but does not run unless you choose Accept all in the consent dialog; with Accept required, or if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, it never loads and no ads are shown. If you choose Accept all, Google AdSense runs, shows ads that fund the site, and Google may set advertising cookies on this site and use your browsing, device and IP address data to choose and measure ads, under Google's own terms; you can manage ad personalization in Google's ad settings. We receive aggregated ad reports, not information about you. Choosing Accept required later stops AdSense from loading on your next page view and removes the AdSense cookies this site can reach.
What is not collected
Unless you choose Accept all: no advertising identifiers and no ads. This site does not sell personal data or build profiles of visitors. Company sections on commodity pages contain corporate facts only and nothing about private individuals.

You may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to processing. Email the address on the contact page.

Our JSON and CSV files are public and contain no personal data.
