Cookies and consent

By default this site sets no cookies. The only measurement that runs without asking is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no local storage.

Google Consent Mode

Google Analytics loads on every page, but starts with all four of Google's consent signals set to denied. While analytics storage is denied it sets no cookies and reads none, and it sends a cookieless request to Google when a page loads (the page address, referrer, browser and device details and your IP address, as with any web request); Google's documentation says it uses these for aggregated measurement and modelling. Choosing Accept all in the dialog grants analytics storage, after which analytics cookies are set. The three advertising signals (ad storage, ad user data, ad personalisation) are always denied because no advertising features are used. Declining, or changing your choice here later, returns analytics to the cookieless state and removes the analytics cookies from this site.

Change your choice

The dialog gives "Accept required" and "Accept all" equal weight. It appears on your first visit and is not shown if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, which this site treats as a refusal. You can open it again from "Cookie choices" in the footer.

Your answer to the consent dialog is stored in your browser's local storage under the key co-consent, not in a cookie.

GDPR and ePrivacy

No analytics or advertising cookies are set before consent, and Google AdSense does not run before you choose Accept all. The Google Analytics script itself does load before you choose, in the cookieless Consent Mode described above. Declining is as easy as accepting; the choice can be withdrawn here at any time; the privacy policy describes what each tool collects.
