Between FY2025 (Jul 2024 to Jun 2025) and FY2026 (Jul 2025 to Jun 2026) the reported figure fell by 4.7%, in the same unit and on the same basis.

How the lithium-content figure is worked out. Albemarle reports 19 thousand tonnes of lithium metal for its 49% share in CY2025, rounded to the nearest thousand tonnes. Dividing by 0.49 gives about 38,800 tonnes for the whole operation, good to about 1,000 tonnes either way. World mine production of lithium in 2025 was 290,000 tonnes (USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026); Australia produced 92,000 tonnes.

Status: operating, as of 27 August 2026.
